#5 - Special Edition: Recruitment in the Northeastern Community

This week we are pivoting from our usual content to share various organizations in Northeastern’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, known as MOSAIC, that are actively recruiting for the spring. Each of these organizations plays a unique role in helping further the development of Northeastern founded ventures.
MOSAIC Organizations Recruiting
IDEA is Northeastern University’s student led venture accelerator. With strong student leadership and university support, the program was developed in 2009 to provide resources and support for entrepreneurs across all disciplines. The unique stage gate process provides a framework that can be applied to any venture across all industries. IDEA currently has over 400 active ventures, 80 of which have been launched. IDEA is currently accepting applications for Spring 2021!

Generate is Northeastern’s student-led product development studio, a program of the Sherman Center, and member of Northeastern’s entrepreneurial engineering community. Generate connect tech minded individuals with clients who have product ideas in order to bring those product ideas to life. Applications for Outreach positions including Hardware Client Specialist, Member Outreach Specialist and more will be closing on 12/1. All open applications can be found on Generate’s website!

Origin is Northeastern's Science and Technology Incubator, committed to providing mentorship, non-equity funding, and an inclusive community to individuals who are pursuing projects and ventures dedicated to solving problems in STEM-facing industries. Origin works with early-stage projects through the initial stages of ideation, runs its own speaker event-series called Tech Talks, and has built a community Slack group where anyone interested in emerging STEM fields can learn from and meet like-minded individuals. Origin is currently looking for members to join its management team, with positions ranging across marketing, journalism, design, events, and operations.

Formed in 2019, ViTAL started out as a merger between two clubs, the Northeastern Healthcare Business Club (NUHBC) and the Bouve Innovators (BI). Since then, ViTAL has evolved continuously to provide relevant resources for Northeastern students - connecting with companies for co-ops and employment, challenging skills and creativity at the intersection of healthcare, tech, and business, and hosting educational events with distinguished guests. ViTAL is open to students of ALL backgrounds, from pre-med to computer science to finance and everything in between.

NUImpact is Northeastern University’s student-led impact investing initiative and investment fund. NUImpact fosters insightful discussion on campus through two complementary pillars: Educational Programming and the NUImpact Fund. Programming consists of speaker events, community-centric events, workshops, and their flagship Northeastern University Sustainable Investment Summit. The NUImpact Fund provides hands-on finance and social impact education through a rigorous semester-long four-step investment process undertaken by teams of student analysts. The NUImpact team is currently recruiting for E-Board and Fund Team positions. Applications will be open till 12/1.

About the Author
Alex Marley is a junior majoring in electrical engineering and economics at Northeastern University. Currently he is an Associate for the Huntington Angels Network, Client Management Lead for Generate, researching neural interfacing devices at Northeastern, an electrical engineer for Paradigm Hyperloop and the founder of the NUOverload newsletter. Alex is also working full time as an electrical engineer at Notch Technologies and interning as a venture analyst for Wiase Capital.
